May Philly HUG Meet-up experience

"When I heard about this event that was not only local but free, I definitely thought that it was something that would benefit me to go to and learn about how sales and marketing can be aligned."

Q&A with Courtney

How did you find out about the Philly HUG?

"Megan and Bonnie, Philly HUG Sprockets, attended a Temple University Professional Sales Organization meeting to share information about the Philly HUG Community and the Smarketing event. I thought it was an interesting event because sales and marketing are definitely two areas I'm interested in, so I signed up."

What got you interested in coming to the May Meet-up?

"Whenever I hear about events going on, I do my best to try and make it to them to meet people, network, and learn as much as I can in these four years I have at Temple. Any event that I get the opportunity to go to I will. It's intimidating but it's worth it."

Share one thing you learned.

"One thing I learned at this event was definitely more about the sales process and how it's used to help people by listening to their needs. It's something my student organization stresses as well but this meet-up dug deeper to that and really showed statistics that really just showed how important listening to people is and listening to what they need, rather than just selling at them."

Did you meet any new people?

"I did meet a few new people. I will connect with them on LinkedIn after this."

Make your next event be the Philly HUG's first ever Speed Network Yourself to New Opportunities w/ beer and biz cards. Sam Glasberg will present how by networking "right," you'll build the type of relationships that help open all sorts of doors!
